Organizational Structure
We are an independent church founded in 1931, incorporated in 1941.
The governing body of the church is the congregation under the leadership of the Board of Trustees. The Board is ultimately responsible for the functioning of the church and its operating in accordance with the teaching of Jesus Christ and the early Christian Church. The Board consists of the pastors, two treasurers, plus eleven members who are elected by the congregation for a three year term on a staggered basis. New trustees take office on January 1st.
All items pertaining to the functioning of the Church are brought up before the congregation quarterly, after being screened by the Board of Trustees at their prior meeting. The congregation will make the final decision on all items presented.
The pastors are selected by the Board of Trustees and approved and licensed by the congregation.
The senior pastor has the responsibility of recommending, to the trustees and the congregation, personnel to fill appropriate staff positions.
All organizations of the church are subject to the jurisdiction of the congregation and Trustees of Jenkins Memorial Church.
